Speed Six MIL management light and alarm

I recently bought a 2000 speed six, its immaculate and I absolutely love it.

However the MIL management light and alarm started sounding. The book says this is fuel system and emmisions. There is no loss in power and the engine feels and sounds to be running perfectly. Im wondering if it could be a faulty or dirty lambda sensor. It was in for its 6k service on friday and everything was ok. It has been decat also so I was wondering if that could cause the sensor to give up. Im just a little concerned as there is a flashing light and alarm though it really only happens intermitantly when I accelerate but not all the time.

I spoke to the tvr garage that done the service and they said not to worry too much but to call back if it doesnt stop

Any help would be appreciated

You need to hook it up to a laptop and see what is wrong. If you dont have one or access to one take it back to where you had it serviced

That garage sounds brilliant, NOT, if they did the work then in my opinion they should connect the laptop up straight away and check it out for you. There may be nothing to worry about but if there is it will be too late by then.
Is there anyone in your area that has the software (It's on here somewhere) and leads are as cheap as chips, especially compared to any engine work.
If it's under acceleration when the light and buzzer comes on then it could be weak fuelling and if thats the case it needs sorting.
Just another point, are you using the high octane fuel or just normal.

the garage is in blackpool and im in glasgow. Im a mechanical engineer myself but havet touched tvr before. I have managed to get hold of the software fo just need a cable then i will be able to see whats going on hopefully.
I am using high octane fuel as suggested by the manufacturer.

I would recommend that you download the manual for the software, it will help you to find what causes the mil light to go on. An intermittent fault as you describe it is often a AFR fault that is caused by bad balance between the throttles.

hmmm not seen this before. shame none of the manuals im trying to download are actually manuals. rather some st advertising for mini's or something.

ive managed to get some of the manuals and the software downloaded which looks good but im still waiting for a cable from clevertrevor to try it out.
The readme for the software give some good info on the MIL light and fault codes and stuff.
