If it's about hypersonic aircraft like the link suggests do some googling of them, absolutely crazy.

90 minute flights from London to Sydney with speeds of 13000 mph kind of crazy.

Hypersonic glider that crashed? Hardly the "aurora" I would have thought.

Stick together a few bits and pieces lying around the base, use conspiracy stories to your advantage, blow said bits and pieces to smaller bits and pieces high up in sky at night and ask for another $20bn to try again.

Career saved, job done, go away and try again.

NASA also did a test a few years ago.

Its the little black bit on the front of the booster rocket. Military going away from the NASA that has empty coffers? Seems an odd way to land bombs on your target.

It does indeed, perhaps the payloads aren't always intended to be explosive ordnance?

With a bit of heatproofing and another booster or two I'm thinking reusable space craft.

Except that USAF already have the X37-B in orbit.
