308 restoration

I am just in the process of having a gtb restored. The rear and front sections below the bumpers have a stone chip finish at present. Is this original or should it be a smooth finish

Depends - if it has a steel front valence then yes it should be stone chipped up to the grille intake & to the spot welded seam at the corner where it turns to the side of the car.
The rear valence should not be stone chipped.

Just checked my 1980 GTS. Is 100% original with fibreglass front spoiler (standard spoiler, not the deep one). No stonechip.
