ford puma or fiesta st
Discussion
hi guys i know they're two totally different cars but which would you reccomend?
im leaning towards the st as its faster and also newer (sorry to be a bore and state the obvious) also i had a mark four fiesta 1.25 and i loved it though i craved for more power and better handling the car rolled way tooooo much imo and would struggle for up on a motorway. also the puma's rear seats are just a bad joke i don't think i can seriously fit anyone in the back as im a six footer but i know from experince i could do that in the st fiesta. i've driven a mark one focus and i really had more fun steering my fiesta though the focus was without doubt the better car. another thing is most puma's i've looked at have rust and i really dont have the time to sort out bits on a car!
if it helps i plan to keep the car for a few months before getting an r53 cooper s!

Think i may help in this matter buddy as i have owned both an r53 cooper s and a fiesta st and in my opinion i would choose the fiesta purely because of its own individual merits.im leaning towards the st as its faster and also newer (sorry to be a bore and state the obvious) also i had a mark four fiesta 1.25 and i loved it though i craved for more power and better handling the car rolled way tooooo much imo and would struggle for up on a motorway. also the puma's rear seats are just a bad joke i don't think i can seriously fit anyone in the back as im a six footer but i know from experince i could do that in the st fiesta. i've driven a mark one focus and i really had more fun steering my fiesta though the focus was without doubt the better car. another thing is most puma's i've looked at have rust and i really dont have the time to sort out bits on a car!

I think personally that the mini's rep is built on nostalgia and not for practicality. I am also a six footer and the mini is tiny for me!! Interior and bootspace were terrible.
Having owned an 05 plate fiesta st since feb 10 i can honestly say i love it, ok so it may be down on power and torque compared to the mini however fiesta's can be easily tuned up with a k&n induction kit and milltek flexi pipe i have had over 170bhp on the rollers.
Build quality and interior space is much better and it looks a much prettier car..in my opinion of course.
The only flaw i can find on a fezzer st would be that it definetly needs a 6 speed gearbox, but even so that is not a major issue.
Good luck deciding mate..let us know what you decide.
