no alarm keyfob

I have recently bought a car that has an aftermarket alarm but the previous owner could not supply the remote fob.I dont want to rip out the whole alrm thats fitted(I havent a clue what make it is nor where its located,just seen the sensors on the winscreen pillars, a switch on the engine lid and a red light on the centre consol).can I buy a remote that can be programed to work on my alarm.

You can, but it really does help if you know the make / model of what is fitted.
Otherwise, you will save yourself a load of hassle be just getting a new one fitted. (If you, or your ins comp really think you need one)
