Exhaust DB query

Just a quickie question

Recently I popped to goodwood to watch the track events there and whilst there had my car sound tested, db were 93 for one pipe and 103 for the other.......is this normal or are my baffles on the way out?

Just make sure when its measured again for a track day there get him to use the quiet one .

No idea if the Chim has seperate boxes, but if it does then yes one of them could have knackered baffles.

V8S et al only have the one box so the noise should be the same out of both pipes.

I think it's one centre box with the pipe splitting afterwards. Therefore IMO something else caused the different readings. Unless one of your pipes has a mouse stuck up it or something!

Griffs & Chimaeras have 2 pipes through the centre box, and remain separate,(single pipe up to the silencer box) it is possible that the wadding has degraded on one side or a partial blockage in one of the perforated sections through the silencer.
