The Autoglym PistonHeads Caterham Challenge has got off to a great start at Brands Hatch and Silverstone with some great driving skills being demonstrated by the PHers who took part. The APCC is run over several qualifying rounds, with the best drivers from each round going through to a grand final later in the year.

Competitors test their car control skills in 150bhp versions of Caterham’s legendary Seven at venues across the UK, including Brands Hatch and Silverstone. The top three drivers from each of the rounds will automatically be entered into the final, in which they will compete for both eternal notoriety and a collection of excellent prizes. However, the day itself is great fun and the final is just an added bonus as we can guarantee that all those who attend will have a fantastic and exhausting day.

The fast guys....no expense spared on signage.

The top drivers at the Brands event held on the 22nd April were:1st - Simon Banks, 2nd - Craig Currie, 3rd - Arun Dhanapala, 4th - Roger Miller, 5th - Jack Kemp.

The top drivers at the Silverstone event held on the 24th April were: 1st - Andy Cuthill, 2nd - Sami Abulhawa, 3rd - Paul Tuttle, 4th - Justin Beadle, 5th - Brendon Jones. At Silverstone, the top 16 were seperated by only 1.77 seconds! Good work guys.

We have two more rounds upon us, and we are now open for bookings! Join us at Silverstone on the 7th May and Brands Hatch on the 24th May

Nice drift. This is NOT Riggers

The sessions are priced at £195 and are based on the hugely popular Caterham Drive Experience (CDX) days. Throughout the day you will take part in slaloms and a whole host of other driving activities designed to test your skills but, of course, you will receive thorough training along the way. Most impotant, it's a very relaxed environment and, above all else, a great laugh.

The grand final (free for all those who qualifiy) will take place in September 2010. All finalists will receive a fully stocked Autoglym car care valet case on the day and the champion will win a prize package that includes:

  • The chance to take their own car to Autoglym’s Letchworth HQ for a full valet performed by its team of experts
  • Lunchtime BBQ hampers visibility

A chance to take part in a car test with the PistonHeads.com editorial team
  • A Caterham Seven for a weekend, as well as tickets to the end-of-season Caterham Awards ceremony thrown in too

It's a great series, and members of the PH team hope to be at the meetings in the PH Caterham Academy car piloted by our very own Mansell-in-the-making Riggers (we'll leave it up to you to decide if that's an added draw or not).

I WISH I could make this! Did my first trackday in my Dad's Caterham a few weeks ago and it was one of the most fun things I've ever done in my life! They're brilliant cars and it must be even more fun with nothing to hit and being in someone elses car whistle

Weee! Looks like our ugly mugs in the 'winners photo' from the Brands Hatch Event escaped the article!

Can't wait for the final round, I had great fun and my 3rd place was an absolute bonus, not expected at all!

How much did Jack Kemp pay the PH team to 'make him' 5th? wink
