CV boot question??
Discussion
Hi
I recently fitted two new cv boots to my 06 skoda octavia. The boots are those horrible plastic ones which were a real pain to fit. I secured both sides (the small end of the boot which fits the shaft) with the clips provided but they kept coming off so I fitted jubilee clips. One side is fine and has never come off but the passenger side only lasts about 3-4 days and then comes loose. I keep re-tightening it but after a few days of driving it works its way loose. Any ideas why this is happening? To clarify it is the small end of the boot which fits over the shaft. I'm just wandering if I should just not bother having the clip on at all as the plastic boot feels really tight and solid on the shaft and hasn't moved one bit. I'm just using a normal jubilee clip that I purchased from Halfords.
