I was wondering what is cradle damage on a car and how much are we looking to fix as in alot or reasonable costs to repair such damage?

'Cradle damage' is not something I've ever heard in my 18 years in the auto trade. They could mean subframe damage?

The cradle is the subframe that is located on the underside of the car. It generally holds the engine & gearbox along with the bottom arms etc. Most are removable as they are only bolted on.
I would get one from a breakers and ask local garage for a quote on fitting it. I would guess £200 inc the part but it depands on the car of course biggrin

I would disregard any salvage sellers description of the damage. "Yeah: its had a tap on the corner Mate" usually means chassis leg into the bulkhead is FUBAR (but we gave it a half-arsed pull before washing it and advertising it, so it looks straight). Why do all 'honest' salvage cars have marks underneath from the jig clamps.....?

GC8 speaks the truth.
Many a time I've been to look at a bit of salvage that the yard has described as "very light" and always they've been hit hard and had a sneaky pull by them to try and make them look better. The days of finding a supply of profitable repairble salvage are long gone, unless you can get them direct from an insurance company, or want to "ring" them.

yes, thanks for the reply guys and yes it is the sub frame, it was an audi a5 3.0 tdi and i was thinking of buying it but the guy has all the parts, well most of the parts including the cradle, i was just wondering if it was worth buying with damage that extensive thats all, i currently have e46 bmw 330ci m sport and the air bag light is giving me a right head ache, first i had to get it diagnosed which bought up the pretensioners on the drivers side, so i got one from the scrappy and had to take the seat out just to change it, then i had to get the error erased. i drove down the road and the light came back on and now its the bloody battery expolsion thing and also i found out 2 out of 4 of my parking sensors is done in which is ridiculus cuz they were working about 3 weeks ago. not very happy! thanks for your help guys

Maybe worth checking your battery is up to scratch, and that all the earthing straps are in good condition and have a clean connection to the body, as it is not unusual for such 'faults' to appear, and the components themselves are fine, its low battery voltage or bad earths.
