Not happening until September 18-19th at Silverstone but free stuff is a rare thing so if you fancy a day watching loud cars its worth a look.

Went to the last two events at Silverstone and it proved a decent weekend both times. Fair few nice historic Renaults available to see, plenty of Alpines and even the odd Venturi. Jean Ragnotti always put on a good show too.

Apart from the beer fueled chavs. Never seen "security" in stands before.

I've been fortunate to see World Series on numerous occassions since it first graced these shores as the Dallara Nissan Championship supporting ISRS in 1998. Never in my life have I been verbally abused at a motor racing event. Until the second free event at Donington. If I can be so bold, start putting £10/week aside and save to attend the Goodwood Revival the same weekend. You won't regret it.

Excellent, thanks! Have been for many years now, and although it's getting a lot more chavs in the recent years, the kids love it.

It's a great day, slightly marred by the aforementioned chavs. I took a mate last year and had to keep reassuring him that it wasn't a typical motorsport crowd biggrin

I agree with everyone here about the chavs. I remember one of the ones at Silverstone a couple of years they had a max powerish Meganne with 9 million speakers. It was like watching flies flocking to dog st.

Went to the first two at donington. First one had *some* undesirables, second one had *a lot* of em. Loud swearing, rubbish everywhere, stealing and breaking chairs (and thinking it's funny) above old hairpin. Never have I disliked the "general public" as much!

As said, pay and go somewhere else with a normal motorsport crowd, ie better behaved!

A tleast in a relative sense the donny one seemed to have a slightly better crowd but even then it was a chavfest of almighty proportions.

it depends how much you let those sorts of things get to you (or indeed how much of a chav you are wink ) but for me it was the worst even i have ever been to at silverstone. which is a shame because it has a lot of potential.

other than the chavs both events were fairly badly organised i felt.

the main positive i got was the generosity of a fellow PHer i've never met or had anything to do with giving me the ticket in the first place after i made an appeal on here..! well that and ragnotti in a turbo2!

when peugeot subsidised the LMS tickets that was a much better thing to do.

Thanks for the heads up. Definitely has some chavs, but me and the other half weren't too bothered by it from what I recall.

I have to agree.

It's a real shame that each year it's just got more and more chavvy.

Have been every year. Park the Clio infield in the club parking and picnic out of the car. Always a great day and now no issues with the car parks like at donnington.

Yeah there are chavs but I don't really care about them.

Except for those of us who didn't know about the free tickets, queued for 90mins to get in and therefore missed the first half of the race during which all the action occurred to the Peugeots! I was gutted about that.
