Hi chaps.

Im going to take a look at 108k, 2 owner, FSH, E39 528 Sport this afternoon.

I've gleaned the forums for info and so far have come up with a few things I should be looking for:

- cooling system, visual inspection plus check history for any replacement parts
- front and rear suspension bushes, noises / clunks etc
- rust on the rear arches and bootlid
- check the service history / service lights on dash
- its got a tape h/u with cd prep so not much to check in terms of changer
- cant make out any PDC sensors from the pics so dont think it has it

Anything else?

Cheers.

If it's an auto, select reverse and make sure the car moves smoothly.

One of the first signs of an autobox on the way out is reverse not working properly.

Condensation inside headlamp lenses.

Ideal solution is upgrade to '01 'Angel eyes', but will cost £300+

I had condensation in one lense and it wes down to the seal leaking between the lense and lamp body. Simple to fix, just remove the lamp and apply a bead of sealant to the joint. I've just gone through winter without any comdensation at all.

Went to see it Saturday in the end as we had a fair bit of rain Friday afternoon.

As soon as I walked up to it I could see that it had had some paint on the passenger side, most likely the whole side. It didnt match the bonnet and the quality of finish wasnt all that good particulary around the tops of the doors.

Both the headlights were misted up, which I could have easily sorted but the paint on the passenger side put me off completely, which is a shame as the interior was in lovely condition and all the history etc was cosher.

One thing I noticed was that on the drivers door there was a few switches that read M 1 2 3, what are these for?

Memory seats IIRC... It'll remember 3 seat positions for 3 different drivers
