Listening to this today, Nicky Campbell was in a cafe with various politicians and punters.

One of them was a guy who claimed to be unemployed after earning over £150k pa in the City.

He claimed to have applied for 60,000 jobs in 2 years!

He blamed Brown and Cameron for letting the banks away with things, and he couldn't get a job because of 'Immigrants'.

(I thought he had a very strong Indian sub - continent accent, so I was surprised when he started the Immigrant thing, he then said his Dad came over from India, and that he personally was a 4th or 5th generation Immigrant!)

For me, this helped understand why his job hunting has perhaps not been fruitful!

Did anyone else hear him on the radio?

He was on 150k in the city and couldn't find another job despite 60000 applications. I think he is telling porkies

Didn't hear it on the radio but 60,000 jobs in 2 years seems almost impossible! He has applied for 3.4 jobs an hour, every hour, for two years! If that is the case he deserves a World Record hehe

He must have been using a banking calculator.

If you can't get a job after applying for 60,000 (total lie) then it's safe to assume, YOU ARE UNEMPLOYABLE!

Throwing numbers like that around I'm surprised the Labour party didn't hire him on the spot.

Did he not just sign up for Monster, or something similar, and think "there's 60,000 jobs on there, if they want me, I'll go".

I was too busy trying to maintain a stable bladder content temperature after listening to the comments made by the Labour supporters to get too worried about what our Liberal voting friend was saying...
