Talk about pull on your heart strings

Just read this http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/i... very sad and kind of put things into perpective so I immediately gave my little 2 year old an extra special big hug this morning.

The bit at the bottom - tried three times to abort a child and now he's a school boy! Christ on a bike. I know that women have rights regarding this, but things like that make you wonder what the hell is wrong with humanity.
I was just going to quote that...'In 2005 a baby boy in Manchester was born alive at 24 weeks after surviving three attempts to abort him. He is now a five-year-old schoolboy'
Clearly he was meant to be survive

Wow. I suppose that, at a base level, and in the absence of medical care, the baby died.
Still, late term abortions. Very grey area.
I agree its hugely subjective, I'm not religious and certainly believe its a womans right to abort but at 24 weeks.... I'm not so sure! Still, late term abortions. Very grey area.
I have no issue with mothers/people who abort a pregnancy what ever the reason it their personal choice.
The thing I find so hard to get my head around is that the doctors must have known the fetus/baby was alive when delivered/terminated. They then just left it on its own to struggle for life for nearly 24 hours after which it was transferred to an ICU where it eventually died.
Could they not have euthanized the baby to save its struggle straight away?

I think this is one of those horrible areas of law, the Doctors can withdraw help so that a person/baby dies, but cannot pro-actively kill someone per se.The thing I find so hard to get my head around is that the doctors must have known the fetus/baby was alive when delivered/terminated.
