I am still waiting for my manifolds, and am getting throughly pi@@ed off. Alunox is the company and although Leon seems a nice guy he has fu**ed me around no end. The thing that grinds me is the promises, if equipment breaks I understand it takes time to fix, but 7 weeks for a PCB for a run-of-the-mill former and to be told yes Paul I will ring, then nothing, then i ring and O I'm in the middle of making them, bla bla bla. I supply equipment and service to customers every day and never promise something I can't deliver, it drives me mad when people tell you what they think you want to here!!!!

I've got some you can borrow. Had them for 8 yeras now not bad at 44!!!!!!!!!I also sympathise as there seem to be quite a few that promise and never deliver. Pain in the proverbial. Chin up old chap......summer will soon be over.

I have spent the last month or so organising bits for my car from all over the country and even the states.
The one job I have done locally (Having the heads gas flowed) is completely holding up my build, 2 weeks turned into 2 and a half, 2 and a half into 3 etc etc.
4 1/2 weeks on and 20 calls later I'm still waiting....and I do beleive that they have not even called me back once.
Just pisses me off because again, I run my own company and it is and would be completely unacceptable to treat one of my customers in this way.
I have been sincereley promised my heads will be ready by Tues / Wed next week......

I think a double spirit with no water is reqd. I had to wait several weeks for Leon to produce my exhaust - everything downstream from the engine.
He had to sort out fecked turbo actuators and more seriously, a totally corroded rear chassis.
He kept me up to speed on what needed doing and I drove over to see for myself when he got concerned about the amount of extra work that was required on the chassis.
We do own cars that aren't run of the mill and I think we have to accept that when asking guys to work on them. Little bit disappointing that your new exhaust hasn't been produced more quickly because I was his guinea pig and was told that he would then have the formers available for manufacturing subsequent exhausts.
I too run a 'service' business and try my best to keep customers informed but it ain't always easy. Leon is a one man band and if he's like me, it's hard to get a balance between keeping the customer informed and getting the job done.

Good thanks Grant, Just a bit stressed trying to make it all come together.The weeks are counting down to the Ring/Spa trip but hell or high water I'll be there.
I'm gonna need a bloody good weekend away to get over all this once the car is built.
Just seem to be running out of space for all the boxes of new bits I've got waiting to put together.
Leon has me booked in for the 13th and Trevor the week after, but it all Depends on getting my Bloody heads back.
Look forward to a meet up again m8 and maybe a

Good point well made!!! The "idea" is that they are made from better grade stainless to handle the temps and so less chance of cracking. To be fair to Leon he did contact me today, but its too late to get the car ready for the long weekend. SWLC have the Noble ones on the shelf, could have had the car on the road weeks ago. Feed back on the Noble ones isn't that great so hoping I've made the right decision. Seems I'm not alone when it comes to hair tearing!! pills taken now.....feeling alot better......and breath

I fitted a front M400 manifold, 2 years later I had to take it off cause it cracked. The joint to the turbo flange was 40% split around.Don't bother cause they are crap!
I now have the Elunox replacement fitted at the front. Much better material and workmanship. But I also had to wait a while.
I have a rear Elunox here not fitted as I am going to wait until the existing rear one splits before I take the skin off my knuckles again.
So if anyone is stuck, I'm sure I could help out. They cost £600 each with the brackets and gaskets.

Owd tt so it was you holding up the production line!!!! One of the problems was that the machine Leon has for forming the bends had broken and needed a new pcb from Italy (would seem sent by carrier pidgin). My gripe was I was promised dates and then let down. I'm sure Leon is a top bloke, seems over worked, just fustrating when the car is ready to go bar manifolds. Roll on next week.......is that a bank hol????

The new maniflolds are on, garage where not that impressed with the finish, but I have been assured that this is due to them being for turbo system,(heat will discolour the stainless whether polished or not). They were a pig to fit due to the bracket for the turbo getting in the way of the oil pipe, apparently. The boys at SWLC are still working on the front brakes to try to stop this judder under heavy braking. Hoping to pick the car up this weekend, come on sunshine please!!!!
