E36 coupe driving seat - back pains?
Discussion
After driving for a few hours (as little as 2 or 3 sometimes), I seem to incessantly be getting back pains. I've tried sitting in it in various ways as well as rearranging the seat position, but none of that seems to help. Has anyone else experienced this?
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Would the seats from an M3 be better perhaps?
Thanks,

I too have had back problems, with both E34 and E46 seats - the best solution seems to be the electrically operated seats, with the continuously variable back rest adjustment. That's one area I've always had problems with - are BMW seats with the latch back adjustment method.Does anyone have any suggestions?

There were a number of different seat options with the E36. My last E36 (a 1998 E36 328i Sport Coupe I sold just before Christmas) had the most comfortable seats I've ever experienced in a car. My previous E36 (1993 325i) gave me a few problems.
I have constant back pain and am very picky about how I sit in a car because of this. Try tilting the base of the seat back so your thighs are lifted up, taking the pull off your lower back from your legs, and then tilt the seat back rearwards comensurate with the base adjustment; this whole position allow gravity to act at an angle to your spine, rather than directly down through it, causing pressure.

Will try that next time I go for a long drive. Question though: which seats did you find most comfortable? The standard ones (i.e. http://nightshocker.com/gallery/my_92bmw_CURRENT/s... or the ones with the extension on the front most pad (i.e. http://media.photobucket.com/image/e36%20front%20s...I have constant back pain and am very picky about how I sit in a car because of this. Anyone out there with an E36 M3, how comfortable are the seats?
Cheers,
