I am currently lumber'd with a 59 1.2 corsa and it is definatley the slowest car I've driven. Is this what everyone gets as a courtesy car? In 2004 we got a brand new megane cc (which was nice). So whats the best courtesy car you've had?

Got a 2.4d Alfa 159 about 2 years ago. Tosser pulled in front of me and wrote off my car but as it was a 2.2 (Vectra!) and not my fault, the insurance company had to give me same engine size or bigger! Fekkin beautiful car it was!

Mines in for warranty work too. They had to hire it from enterprise, doubt I'd have got a cls from pug though.

Brand new Toyota Auris 1.6 - was the first car I drove after I passed, and continued to do so for 10 days until Direct Line sorted out writing off our Fiat Punto. Was good fun. biggrin

We give our customers '10 plate Mazda2 TS2's.. Still only a 1.3 though unfortunately.

One customer tried to insure it herself for the day and the insurance company said it was too expensive for them to cover! eek

Enterprise manage Mercedes breakdown fleet, MB still own most of the cars. It's meant to go something like Mercedes same model, Mercedes any model, Enterprise hire car similar, Enterprise whatever they can find.

I also had the displeasure of driving one of these as a courtesy car a month ago. Quite possibly the worst car i've ever had the displeasure of driving.
The amount of body roll in corners was laughable, the entire interior was hard brittle plastic and the clutch moved upwards?
Although as you say the noise the engine made when it was being bounced off the limiter more than made up for it. smile
One highlight I had was on the A20 trying to keep an Audi R8 behind me... and then trying to catch it back up again. (The ex didnt approve)
biggrin

I hired one of these from Enterprise... OK I hired a small car, that's what I got. At times I had to drop gears on the motorway to get up gradual inclines without being overtaken by wildlife. Truly hateful thing. And the steering was devoid of all feel, and the driving position for me (I'm only 5ft 10) meant you had to be proportioned like an orangutan to operate the controls without leaning forward. Shame, because the chassis underneath actually felt quite decent.

Best courtesy car though... a Focus. OK it was a an estate with a 1.8 litre diesel engine I didn't really enjoy, but my god that car handled well! So much fun on the B roads biggrin
