Evening all

About to start the process of transferring a cherished plate on one car (A) to another (B).

B is due an MOT on 11th May (a few days time), but I have to send both A and B's V5Cs to the DVLA to start the process. Can I get an MOT without a V5C for B or should I wait to send the paperwork for a couple of days?

Hope this makes sense, I've had a few ales.

You don't need the V5 for the MOT.

But you do need an MOT for a plate transfer.

Yes, but he's got those.

Do keep up.

B is due a MOT on the 11th May. It might fail, thus screwing up the whole process. It's the DVLA we're talking about here remember, if everything isn't absolutely 100% perfect they will throw a wobbly and lose his application complete with all the relevant paperwork.

Then he can get it MOTed and the computers will update automatically.

He doesn't need the V5 or even the old MOT anymore.
