4 seater cabriolets
Discussion
I have never been a fan of 4 seater cabriolets. I’ve always seen them as soft and good only for posing. However whilst trawling through the classifieds recently I noticed that S4 cabrios from 2004 - 2009 look fantastic value for money. Yes they are a hugely compromised car but as a result of this it also ticks a lot of boxes. It is fast, reliable, comfortable, very well equipped, practical, well built, has 4 wheel drive for driving in difficult conditions, they come with manual gearboxes, the 4.2V8 sounds great, I can enjoy the added experience a convertible brings during the summer, and it doesn’t come with an OTT bodykit (I hate it when manufacturers stick large lumps of plastic to a car to ‘enhance’ its sporting credentials). The only downsides appear to be fuel and insurance costs, the car is a bit on the heavy side, and no doubt the handling won’t be brilliant although I’m not too bothered by this as I’m looking for an all-rounder. Does anyone on here own one or have any experience of driving one?
All the best.

I've had mine for 8months and am very happy with it. Agree with the OP, it seemed like a lot of car for the money.
Great cabin with loads of toys.
Feels quite rapid in S mode, great soundtrack with the roof down. Speed seems to surprise people as apart from the noise just looks like another audi convertible.
Fuel economy is shocking though, 12-15 mpg around town, mid 20s however on a run. I just can't stop myself pressing the loud pedal to make that V8 noise
