Hi All,

How do I turn the above off on my Nikon D90, this is taking up extra room I don't need. Only want one picture and not two pictures, please see picture below for further information:

Any help would be great.

Thanks, Simon

You've curently got it set to JPG + RAW. You want to turn off RAW. You should be able to find out wherever that setting is via the camera's menu, otherwise googling turn off raw D90 should sort you out.

Of course, but you will get to know your cameras and its functions/options much better if you RTM rather than just dabble on the surface. There will be much of it that probably doesn't make sense now, and probably half you will never need to know, but it means you'll have a 'ground-up' understanding and be able to solve such issues in the field immediately rather than have to go home and fire up PH!

There is no point shooting RAW if you're not going to post process, infact you would be worse off. I suspect as the OP said they are a newbie, they would be better off shooting jpeg until they get to the stage where they a post procsessing images.
