What car for my dad? £7k-ish budget, nothing 'sporty'

My dad has come to me with 2 suggestions of a new car... An Audi A3 or the new Fiesta. Yes, I was as confused as you!

So, what suggestions do people have? I think he'd quite like a 'premium' brand for once in his life, and he definitely doesn't want anything impractical, nothing with only 2 seats, nothing 'flashy', and he isn't bothered about speed. He'll also want something new-ish - definitely not older than 2005; more likely newer than 2007.
