right well i better start with the one you guys will like! biggrin

right so i started with my old work van

then got some coiles and some seats with harnesses

then the stripping began

nice!!

ended up with this

then

next got some plates welded in for the harnesses

then all back ou again, with the dash this time

next the sound deadening

than it was rattle can time smile

i had the support bar sprayed kwasaki green

then finsihed the white

fitted GSi hubs all round with green colour coded calipers

next went and bought a set of 8*17 tsw imolas to use as track wheels

and a set of Rota Drifts to use as show wheels 8*18

obviously iv left a few things out like i colour coded my bumpstrips etc in my garage, but it ended up looking like this

made a crappy center console with some mdf and carbon wrap (will make something decent when i do the engine swap and the loom comes out

then cos we had some paint left we did this to the wheels, roof and mirrors

and iv bought a plate to match my car

next the back was prepped for the cage

now the cage is in, its just waiting to be painted green

and thats as far as iv got, next few plans are new grill, steering wheels and a lot of carbon inside, then ill be looking to do my engine.

Now for the show car, ermmm ill just post some pics as i dont really have a progress blog on this as it was built many many years ago, and has just sort of evolved

sorry if iv gone a bit overboard with the pics, ill keep you guys updated as the van prgresses.

the engine will be swapped over for a tuned C20LET, but that wont be happeneing till the start of June.

ok let me state first! the car was used in "streetdance UK 3D" a new film that is coming out, they paid for the under car neons as they wanted them, before you make any comments on the under car neons biggrin

Love the van, looks like a smashing track project. Can't say the Pug is my cup of tea, though I appreciate the work that's gone into it and it looks like it's been completed to a high standard. More van porn please!

yeah this is why i never joined here before, because although the pug is nice, and has bits on it that everyone likes and appreciates, i knew it wouldnt really be your cup of tea.

With any luck the cage will be sprayed up next week, so should look proper mental inside soon biggrin

Did you weld in the cage yourself or did you get someone to do it? Looks like a good job.

Agree about the Pug not being everyones cup of tea on here, but I at least think that most of us can appreciate the high standard & quality of work that has gone into both of your motors. Your pug is worlds apart from the usual barryboys tat that usually gets discussed.

Personally I think that both look great, modded yes, but not overboard. All the best with your van.

it was done by a friend of mine, as a cage isnt available for the astra van, he said he could do it, and im very pleased with the outcome.

and cheers PHmember and ben, i always find it more of a compliment when the car gets attention just out at a petrol station by a regular sort of guy who isnt really into modified cars rather than some young chav smile i tried to keep with the original lines when building the car

up until this year, the pug was my everyday car but i have decided to give it a year off this year, as its been out in the show scene for around 3 years now.

time to have some fun on track biggrin will definately be up for coming to some pistonhead meets and events with it, maybe learn how to drive properly again wink

I think you made a wise decision posting the van first (and not just the pug) hehe Really like the van, post back when you do the engine swap smile Not a big fan of the pug but like the dash and the led rears look quite good - what do you do for indicators and reverse? tongue out

Love the van! The Pug is not my kind of thing, but still kind of like it. And as others say, I can appreciate the level of work you have put in.

Look forwad to seeing the progress pics of the van. How many rattle cans did it take? Also, any problems with the rear lights at MOT or with the police?

The 106 is absolutely horrible and (personally) think it looks ridiculous. The dash is knid of cool though, hints of tvr curves to it.

I look forward to seeing what you do with the van though, looking really good so far especially the wheels (they suit it perfectly) smile

So 1 out of 2 ain't bad smile

well iv done well to get this far with only one actual bad comment against the pug tongue out

cheers for all your comments tho, the lights and the police, well there not really illegal and the police dont really know what to make of em same with mot stations, so no real troubles as of yet smile

iv lost count of how many rattle cans iv gone thru on the van to do the interior, but i must be hitting the 15-20 mark! lol (should of bought a compressor.)

yes mate iv been on 106oc for around 3 years now.

Like the lights on the 106.

Have you considered the engine from a 9000 for your van?
