Bloody immobiliser

Supposed to be setting off early first thing for a day getting muddy at Salisbury Plains in my little SJ. Open up the garage, pump its tyres up and hook up the jump leads. All going well so far, immob light flashing on the dash, go to apply the little black two pronged stick thing to the immobiliser on the dash and nothing, its like it doesn't recognise it. Now I'm getting well and truly pissed off, things like immobilisers might as well be black magic to me. The lights/radio/horn all work fine with the jump leads attatched, but if I can't stop the immob flashing I can't crank it over.

Any bright ideas I can try?

If not I'll more than likely end up getting dragged down to Ikea instead of being up to my axles in mud...

Update - Reset the ECU and 'click', the immobiliser goes off on demand. Looks like I will be getting muddy after all!
