MORE 4 - NOW (9pm) - Engineering Britains superweapons
Discussion
That was a great documentary, shame I only spotted it after it started!
Seemed strange seeing the V force footage in black & White - they looked so modern / space age... Even more so when you saw a Vauxhall Vanguard parked on the runway!!
The next hour is all about our Super Bombs of the cold war era.

The one after this is about Blue Streak and our missile/space programme. I think this is a repeat from a few years ago. Excellent stuff though, shows how the BBC have really dropped the ball when it comes to decent documentaries now.
This is the Google Earth view of the firing stands at Spadeadam. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&...

Fantastic programme, a touch harrowing and also a touch upsetting, seeing what once was etc.
I never knew about the eye patches for the pilots, simple yet terrifying logic.
And the Russian attaché ignoring all the jets and wanting to see the Vulcan, fantastic.
It's repeated through the night btw
