Hi All,
I have a 2005 Ford KA which struggles to start if its been standing a while, it takes ages to fire and when it does it cuts out straight away, then next turn of the key it fires straight up, its fine after that and starts first time all day unless its been standing for a good few hours. There are no other running symptoms and no codes from the ECU. Its just had a service with new plugs, air filter, oil filter, oil and fuel filter - it was like this before the service.
The only other thing I can think of is that the cooling fan seems to be on a lot which made me think it might be the ECT sensor however I would expect the ECU to give me a code if this was faulty.

Any Suggestions
Thanks

It can be quite rare to get a ect sensor code fault as some have such a wide range that the ecu does not pick it up, even tho it could be faulty

I think I have sussed it - fingers crossed - I noticed some coolant on the thermostat housing this morning and when I exposed the housing for the ECT sensor it was full of coolant and so were the terminals - I have put in a new sensor and ran it up to tempertaure and there is now no coolant leak, I just need to let the car get cold now and see if it starts!!!! Heres hoping
Thanks for your help up till now.
