CHANGING OIL AND FILTER ON A GRIFF ?????

Having never done it before, how long do you have to do the oil/filter change before the oil drains out of the pump and you have to prime it up???????

Longer than you think, and if it's a Serp engine forget it, it's not an issue.

Providing you prepare it right then the time spent with an empty oil pan and no filter shouldn't be an issue.

Get it all hot
whilst is ticking over fill the new filter with fresh oil
Drain oil
refit plug
add new oil
spin off old filter
spin on new one
remove coil lead
spin over on starter until oil light goes out
replace coil lead and start up and check for leaks

350Matt you need to make it clear what end of the coil lead to un-plug as a spark jumping onto the low tension side of the coil normally as disastrous consequences(yes i know you do)personally if you have filled the filter then no need to grind the starter with the HT lead dis-connected waiting for oil pressure just fire the motor up(no throttle)until the oil pressure gauge registers helpful how-to by the way
