no i swear this was the oil i was given wit the car i bought just last week.
i asked the question too and was told this is the oil he had used for the year.

manual says 6000 onwards =carlube triple r 5w-40 fully synthetic

thought best for topping up to keep using the castrol but wondering what other sag owners use and if this is the right stuff

Can of worms!

Oil is a very sensitive subject. Many users are using various grades and makes of oil nad swear by whatever they use.

If you search the forums, many different answers given. I can only advise you to search and make your own mind up.

It's not exclusively for diesel engines. I think the owner of that site's a PHer, so you could always ask him. As L33 said, have a look around and go with one you find suitable...

Probably get shot down in flames for this, however, a fully synthetic 5w40 should be fine. Many of the these oils are marketed as suitable for "high performance petrol and diesel engines". So the fact that it mentions diesel on the label shouldn't matter a toss to be honest.

I have used Millers CFS 5w40 "competition full synthetic engine oil" in all my Speed Six engines, but the XFS 5w40 "full synthetic high performance petrol and diesel engine oil formulated to meet the requirements for engines operating under severe conditions" is equally as good (in my opinion!)

I have used 5x40 fully synthetic Silkolene pro's from Opie oils for the last 3 years.

10-40semi syn or 15/50 mob 1 for me

0-40 was factory recomended but for me goes straight out of the exhaust at higher temperatures on track.

10-60 royal purple good too.

Take advice from your SP6 engine specialist

Personally I like Catrol GTX 20/50, preferably from the metal tin. I use it in my lawnmower and to oil the hinges on our gates too.
