Ive got the official Lotus motorsport jobbies...so they match my winders/knob/handbrake/geargate/heater knobs etc (I know - IM a GJOB!)
Sinclaires fitted them in 1/2 hour ...however the instruction book mentioned 'carefully sawing off the old stalk' after dismantling the assembly and 'bonding new ones on with xx bonding stuff' - so I thought feck it for £25 its not worth risking messing it up....sure you could do it yourself if you are not as lazy as me
some pics here:

you can buy online from www.bell-colvill.co.uk or just order from any Lotus dealer

Bogie - love the style mate, I guess you know why
Did you have all the alcantara done bespoke? I'd quite like my door panels trimmed to match my seats (like yours) and would like to investigate getting the steering wheel retrimmed too at some point.
Also, got any tips for protecting the alcantara - any spray's you use to keep it clean and crud free?
Sorry for hijacking the post - email me if you prefer!
Cheers, Tim

Cheers - you cant beat the 79/72 JPS pimp colour scheme
The door panels and seats are standard S2 Type 72 - the rest was done by the Lotus trim shop (via any Lotus dealer) - cost about £400 all in I think - basically all plastic in the car covered in alcantara, and sill covers in padded leather. It got rid of the rattles and gives the interior a more quality feel
I dont bother with anything on the alcantara - its surprisingly hard wearing. It also dosent look dirty so quick e.g. the top of the plastic dash would get covered in dust within a few days, with the alcantara it looks clean all the time.
I just hoover it with the brush attachment on the hoover every month or so. I did manage to get an dirty oil type stain on the seats once - a quick spray and rub with Autoglym interior shampoo sorted that out....it may be scotchguarded as std?

Back to the stalking......
I wasn't too sure about the black and silver numbers so went for a pair of Zertec ones. If you have a hunt in members for Ballistic Banana, he has all the contact details. Really nice bloke the Zertec chap (and BB
), easy to fit and I think they look the dogs. But beauty is in the eye of and all that....

In-gear times p*ss all over any normally aspirated conversion, which is nice for road driving and lazy people like me

I've got the Lotus Sport ones - they look lovely, but were a sod to fit.
I fitted some to my Griff years ago, the cutting off of the old stalks is a standard thing, and is easy, you can't go wrong there. I couldn't track down the glue they specified - it's a trade automotive thing, I think, so I used Araldite which worked ok.
The problem was the line: "..you may need to fettle the shroud....". All assembled okay, but then I couldn't indicate right, flash my headlights or use the top speed on the wiper! I had to cut quite a bit out of the apertures to get enough clearance for the new stalks, probably a bit more than I'd have liked, so if you were to look closely, you'd see that the rubber gaiters are not too snug on mine anymore.
Can't fault the stalks though, and they are so much better than the old plastic things.
