My Griff had a respray about 6-8 weeks ago prior to me picking the car up. I was advised that due to the paint being soft not to do polish it and just be careful for a month or so, so all I have done is washed it with buckets of water. However, while cleaning it this morning I noticed some spidering above the rear wheel arch. It appears to be confined to the lacquer but stretches over about a 5cm circle, very faint lines but enought to feel when rubbing a finger nail over them. How are they caused? I want to get them sorted, should I take them up with the garage? Any help would be appreciated.
Dont know what type of paint your had used on it but for the last 15 year all god paint is called 2 pack. which means you mix the colour or top coat with hardener, Even if the car was painted in the open air, (hope it wasnt for your sake) the top coat will go off in a couple of hours.. If they used air dry hardener could take a day to day.. Sounds like you have a lot of trouble comming you way,,, My statement is based on being a painter for thirty five years...
The car was resprayed by a reputable dealer of good reputation although not painted by them directly, was organised through them. I assume it has been done in the correct manner as the finish was flawless until i noticed this today, is it likely to have be caused through problems during the painting process?

If you get your car back from any GOOD body shop with an essential OVEN once painted you can drive it straight home jet wash or wax it within a couple of hours, If youve been told not to touch if for week,,s Ive never heard anything like it,,If your car wasnt painted in a oven or spray booth in this inclement weather we have been having your car is going to be covered in micro blister the first Frost that hits your car,,, If you PM me i would be more than please to look at the paint & tell you whats gone wrong...
