Are Labour deliberately trying to throw the election?
Discussion
Prompted by the news of John Higgins being filmed allegedly agreeing to throw frames in snooker matches, I wondered if the Labour party are deliberately ensuring they lose the election?
They presumably know that they've bankrupted the country and haven't got the desire or the know-how to put things right, so maybe they've decided it would be better to let someone else do all the unpopular stuff so they can sweep back in in four or five years time. And better if that unpopular government included both the rival parties in a coalition.
Hence why Gordon Brown is continuing to attack the Tories and is more or less leaving the LibDems alone, even though if you look at polling reports on key marginals it appears the LibDems are likely to take more seats from Labour than from the Tories.

The thought did cross my mind. Especially after Harperson addressing the coloured electorate the other day as 'brothers and sisters'. I couldn't work out how anyone could be so stupid. Then you start to wonder if, indeed it was deliberate. All I could think was that a hung parliament would mean a breathing space for them to get rid of the one eyed buffoon, elect a new leader, whilst CMD/Clegg will have embarked on the unpopular task of sorting the economy. They would then be in a position just in time for the ensuing election to say look, we're new, new and improved labour, and look at how the coalition is treating you.
Don't let your guard down peeps, they're always up to something...

I have been wondering this, whilst wearing my shiny hat of tinfoil.
Sacrifice Winky, lose this election, let the Tories Lib Dems serve a term. During ths time they have to make swingeing cuts become unpopular, & get voted out in the next election giving New New Labour many years in power.

My point is, they are well and truly fecked. Their only hope is for a hung parliament, giving them time to get someone else at the helm, ready for the following impending election. We know whoever is running the country will be perceived as unpopular because of the recession and the appalling state the last 13 years have left us in, and that will be their opportunity to present themselves as the 'real change' the country needs. b

You are grossly overestimating their intelligence.Just look at the Labour cabinet, or even the Labour party as a whole. Do they look clever? Do they sound clever?
They are utterly thick. Unfortunately, that is the price that we pay for "democracy". It means that any idiot can get elected.
There is no IQ test that needs to be passed to become a candidate for any party. You don't even need to be educated. In fact, in this "Sun reading" society, a good education just gets you branded as a "toff".
So the morons do not yet realise that they have bankrupted the country. Most of the voters are going to vote for the party that gives them the biggest tax cut. When the IMF is in charge, they will go on strike and take part in large scale demonstrations.
Only one party, UKIP, recognises the fact that we are bankrupt. Yet most voters that recognise our financial predicament will still vote Conservative "to keep Gordon out". The reality is that Gordon Brown and David Cameron are both socialists.
If the Conservatives win on Thursday, then it will be an almighty disaster for the country. By September, the IMF will have imposed enormously stringent austerity measures onto the British public. The electorate will blame the government, and at the next election the Conservatives will be trashed.

So wtf are we supposed to do?Vote Labour? No f
kin way.Vote Tory? You say Cameron's bad.
Vote Lib? They are worse than Labour.
Vote UKIP? It's a wasted vote under the present 'first past the post' system as UKIP supporters are not concentrated enough to get an MP.
Go on then, tell me who you think I should be voting for.

Look at the manifestos, and vote for the party that would do things that you like.
If you are a Conservative at heart, then this is the first time in your life that you can express your opinion - and still act in the best interests of your party. If Dave wins next Thursday, then the IMF will be called in by September. The cuts that follow will mean that the Conservatives will be out of office for at least another 10 years. By that time, the Navy will be almost non-existant, the RAF will consist of two Chinooks and a replica Spitfire and the army will be barely 60,000 strong.
If the Conservatives lose, then a vote for UKIP will not be wasted. The party will see every UKIP vote as a discontented Conservative vote. They will see that they need to move back to their traditional base and hopefully elect an appropiate leader.
Whoever wins on Thursday is going to be consigned to history for a long time. We are in the same position as Greece. The arrogance of youth means that people less than 45 years old cannot see this.
We have been here before. If you want to know how it turns out then you just need to study history. You won't look at history because you know that this generation is smarter than the previous generation. I know, because I was smarter than the generation that went before me. I was wrong.
Bugger... Is there a spellchecker on PH?

After The Lisbon Treaty was ratified by the Chzech Republic(?), and William Hague said that there would be no manefesto on Europe, I wrote to Conservative HQ suggesting that this would be a major vote loser, and that they had certainly lost mine. After a couple of scripted replys from them that failed to answer any of my points, my final reply from them basicly said "TVR Moneypit, yours is only one vote, so we don't care. We are going to win anyway.
I honestly don't think they give a toss.
UKIP all the way for me chaps. I know that at best they only stand to win a couple of seats, but I vote with a conscience.
They're even more stupid than labour. I refer to exhibit A: The candidate in the richmond park consituency's leaflet I got last week.

It went like this...
We're UKIP, we care about your local issues such as: Leaving europe, and reopening the Walthamstow dog track (30 miles away on the other side of london, roughly 5 constituencies between here and there).
