So what do public service cuts mean?
Discussion
There are plenty of things the Govt are currently p***ng away billions on which are not needed. Tory plans to scrap ID will save what, £8-12 Billion?
Get rid of some middle managers in the Public Sector (sadly unemployment will increase as many of these people are "unemployable" in the real world), reduce the billions syphoned into Quangos which do f**k all but seek to interfere ever further in our lives.
The lying scum will always claim it is doctors, nurses and teachers who will go, whereas in reality it need not be so.

All public funded pensions go to money purchase (including MPs). Stop PFI. Reduce public payroll by 1.25 million. Reform benefits system. Review Barnett formula. Replace Income tax/NI with a simple flat tax. Privatise education. Remove obstacles to new businesses.Get rid of some middle managers in the Public Sector (sadly unemployment will increase as many of these people are "unemployable" in the real world), reduce the billions syphoned into Quangos which do f**k all but seek to interfere ever further in our lives.

Oh yes.But it's always instructive to to add a few figures:
law and order = 5% of budget
health = 18% of budget
education = 13% of budget
defence = 6% of budget
so those very important things that everyone tells us will be destroyed by the slightest whiff of cuts only add up to less than half the budget.
Not only that but all of these services could be cut back.
We could have a lot less paperwork in the police, a more basic health service with charges for any treatment that isn't absolutely essential, we could take a very large axe to education with no ill effects whatsoever as we certainly do not need half the country going to higher education when only a few decades age only a tenth of that went and why on earth are we still in Afghanistan.
If cuts can be made in the important stuff then the rest of the expenditure could be cut back a long way.
