Liverpool v Chelski:
The BBC reports: "After a slow start at Anfield, they were put on the path towards the title by Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, who gifted Didier Drogba the opening goal after 33 minutes with a dreadful backpass that left the striker with an easy job of scoring in front of The Kop.

Then...

Ancelloti stays cool on Premier League title
The goal, and the manner in which it was conceded, ended Liverpool's fleeting resistance and Chelsea cantered to victory."

I heard a dreadful comment about "scouse eating surrender monkies."
Surely this cannot be true?
Pride and professionalism would dictate that just because losing would prevent arch rivals Man U winning the title, no Liverpool player would gift Chelski a goal. Would he?

no he wouldnt. gerrard is a lot of things but he is also a professional and would rather win any game than throw it away. i dont like him personally, all that huff after wining the champions league and flirting with chelsea but as a footballer, he is a professional and has honest values.
havent seen the incident (away to blackpool today) but anyone suggesting he threw that game (and so early in the game) needs a good strong drink....
