Life in Spain - a few questions?

Hi - first post in this forum..... didn't know it existed!
I have the chance of a job in Spain -- specifically the Marbella area - I'm at the point of weighing up whether I can afford the move
What I would really appreciate is some idea of the costs of common everyday items and petrol etc - I could (and have done) Google all this but I will get a better idea from you guys already living there!
At this early stage I would also appreciate anything that I need to bear in mind with respect to tax/healthcare/property etc....
I would be moving there with partner and child so not interested in the club scene!

What/who is the job with?
Cost of living is what you make it, mine has dropped about a third to what it was in London three years ago but many of our friends here spend a fortune.
I pay 750€ a month for a 3bed/2bath penthouse(ish) in central Marbella, that includes water and community fees.
Electric is about 80€ a month (we have no heating/aircon/pool)
Hot water is via gas bottles which last us (just two of us) 2 months and cost 11€.
Weekly shop is about 50€ (no English brands/expat shops)
Petrol is 1,15€ / Diesel around 1,09€
Car insurance is about the same as UK
Secondhand cars are criminally expensive
Internet in an urban area (ie not out in the sticks) costs me 39€/month for 15MB ADSL with no line rental and free national calls to landlines
1ltr of San Miguel is about 1,08€ from the supermarket / small beer varies from 1€ with free tapas to 5€ and a w

If you are self employed there are other fees to consider. Bear in mind that unemployment is extremely high so if something happens with your job then you will be buggered!
Oh and don't even consider buying a property yet, market is in turmoil and who knows what's going to happen. Rentals are plentiful and cheap (as long as you avoid ripoff agents) so you can find your perfect location
