have posted this on the finance forum but no joy yet.
im looking to by a car from a mercedes dealer who have a special offer on of £6800 deposit 36 monthly payments of £629 with a balloon of £25557 dealer contribution is £1347 (aprox)5.9apr.(standard car+command).

the car i want has £5,000 of extras with £7000 deposit and a balloon of £26025 with a monthly of £887.

what im asking is would £5000 worth of extras put a extra £258 a month on the payments or are they having me over on their finance?
when i asked the finance woman at the dealership she got all arsy with me saying thats the payment on the computer and there was nothing she could do about it. when they put the example into the computer which mercedesbenz have on the offer sheet it came up as £6800 deposit,£738 a month with £25557 balloon at the end so whats going on??

i thought that they would just divide the £5000 by 36 and add it to the monthly payment £139 +£629.

is there anyone who could work out what the proper payment should be on here?

many thanks

it should make no difference if it is a mb offer.

the one i want is also a physical car.

Well they'd have to charge you interest on the £5k. If they were feeling generous (if you want to hand the car back) then they might increase the balloon slightly to reduce the payment but it depends what the extras were. Leather, nav and autobox yes - although I suspect with these figures they're already standard - but vibrating heated seats, no.

That said £5k/36, even with interest added on, shouldn't be more than about £160.

I suspect though that any MB finance special offer is designed specifically to shift old stock so they're running two completely separate calculations. They should be able to get you something from stock which meets the offer requirements and has at least some of the extras you're after.

By the way, I can't see an offer that matches the description exactly at http://www.mercedes-benz.co.uk/offers so the precise details may have changed slightly.

SO you pay 33k and hand the car back, or nearly 60k to own it. Doesnt look like a great deal to me.

But it's (seemingly) not on the MB dealer computer and we can't find it on the internet?

ETA Oops, sorry missed this bit...

Extras tend to get written down to nil over the term whereas the base car will have an residual value. The extras will therefore increase the monthly rental by proportionately more than if it was an increase in the base price.

Plus what everyone else said about the terms of particular offers being different.

Looking at the 'standard deal' above (not the +£5K one), then it would cost just under £30K to run the car for three years.

Buying the car for £52K cash and getting 44% back at three years old (according to what car?), would mean you'll be getting roughly £22880 back come resale time.

So thats.... a just under £30K to run the car for three years...

just put the offer that mercedes has offered and the payments have come up at £758 a month not the £629 they have offered it at.

would they have to honour the deal???
