OK so here's the story, my 14 yr old son decided he needed (yes - NEEDED) a jago geep. OK - I have always liked 'em and thought the ones I have seen at shows to be generally well built, solid and good looking. Next, we buy one of ebay for £150! fantastic.
Its better than I imagined too.
Its meant to be a project to teach him the rudiments of car fixing and as such looks a pretty good tool.
Right, how can you help? I have the following problems which I hope someone can help me out with.
1. fuel tank - seems to be an escort estate job, filler tube is cut down a bit and the filler neck has been shortened. The join between them was with a bit of rubber pipe 1 3/4 inch internal diameter. Cant get any! Is there another solution or does anyone know where I can find the stuff?
2. the front suspension isnt mk1 escort - big wented discs and the roll bar goes into a bush in the track control arm - granada? later escort?
3. can I get hold of a build manual of anyone to work out how it all goes together - looks straight forward to me but this would be useful for the lad.
4. it has a 1600 cross flow with a high lift cam - very torquey, a bit lumpy at idle but uninsurable for him when he hits 17 in two years time! Anyone got a 1100 or 1300 Xflow lying around - if it need work so much the better - will be good for him!

many thanks.
Cam
PS I will be at stafford show if anyone else will be.

Hi

Yes we will be at Stafford so hopefully will be able to show you more stuff that may help on Geoffrey which is a Mk2 EScort based Sandero (Geep).
The fact that the front anti roll bar is bushed into the track control arms and with vented discs it is either Mk2 Escort front suspension with widened callipers (so letting the vented discs fit) or possibly Capri.
Europa Specialist Spares should have suitable "hose" to fit the joint between the filler neck and fuel tank. 01283 815609

I went to a motor factor and bought a length of straight 1.75" radiator hose to get it sorted quickly.

Europa do the proper stuff but measure carefully cos it costs £1 per inch.
