dipstick

Where can I buy one for a '98 Griff? Mine seems to be missing and there I was thinking it would come with the car. I have unscrewed the lid and had a look down and can see at least one rocker. It looks like there is oil in there, but presumably they should not be swimming in it. I also can't really see where the dipstick would be inserted. I have searched on here and found references to the tube into which the dipstick goes, but I can't see that either.

Help. Any ideas?

standing in front of the car the dipsticks on the right hand side.midway back on engine, if you cant see where it suppose to go the hole.. The lot could have broken off, In any case whether the whole lots missing or just the dip stick you shouldnt use the car till it sorted. Oil will come out all over the place and could cause enormous damage,

+1 - if the lot is missing you wont see the hole - its hidden by the manifold. If you look between plug 3 and 5 and go down towards the sump you will find it but its hard to get at with the exhaust in place.

thanks very much. I think I have just done something incredibly stoopid, muddling up oil filler cap and the dipstick (partly because I am used to a car where the dipstick was inside the oil filler neck). Will have a proper look and then try to work out where my leak is coming from.
