Why do people throw away the advisories sheet from the MOT?

To me it just makes it look like they / the car has something to hide!
Surely (/ shirley) by keeping the advisories all it does is make the owner / potential owner aware of any minor faults the car has / had and makes the car appear 'honest'.

Because they've got something to hide, obviously. Why else would you do it?

Its very annoying when this happens and as you say, makes you think there is something the seller is trying to hide.

You can check for yourself (if you have the relevant info) on this government website though:

Were all the advisories missing on this car then? Or just the latest set? Either way, probably worth investigating further...

Advisories present for 2006 MOT only.
Car has some history including pictures, MOTs and receipts for work.

I'm not worried about the car though. I know it's had a lot of work done (and a lot more done badly). Has had new wings all round, New doors, Replacement Ivor Searle engine, New Castles and had a lot of chassis welding / floor welding.

It is quite tempting to go through the receipts for the work that was done badly and phone them up and give them a piece of my mind!

It's going in for it's MOT some time this week though as it runs out on the 6th, Pretty confident it will pass.

EDIT:
To remove from quote what was removed from post

I had one like this. Missing was the case of an oil leak. Which came quite clear after a week on the driveway frown

Ooh that's quite handy as I have absolutely no history for my car.

eta: actually it's useless as my car hasn't been MOTd since the new computerised system came in

All I have is a wad of invoices for parts I've bought since owning it which is almost as large as the FSH for the car I sold last year. Just makes it look like it's a lot of trouble doh!

Not too fussed as I'm never expecting it to be easy to sell on so I might just have to keep old of it, oh what a shame biggrin
