Yeh i think most people to different degrees have been affected by the big C. Lost my sister in-law about 10 years ago and last year lost my brother in-law, my Aunt and an uncle.

The places went quick last year, so will be on the look out.

Guys I will defo get an update on this tomorrow, I know the girls are still working on the final plans etc and was waiting for them to be finalised but due to the amount of interest I will try and push for an update tomorrow.

I believe they are looking at changing the format of the day, with a bigger window time but I will get an update of some sort tomorrow.

Guys, spoke to Ashley at the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice. Full details are still to be finalised (there is a meeting planned for next week for this).

However if you are wanting to register interest, can you send an email to
ashley.kilgour@ppwh.org.uk with your full name and contact details and she will contact you once the details have been finalised.

If any further info becomes available, I will use this thread as the one that gets updated as I think there are another couple of threads running as well.

OK, final meeting has now been held with BAA and below are the details:

Race the Runway
Thursday 1st July 2010, Edinburgh Airport
In aid of The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice

Enjoy the thrill of testing your car’s performance on the longest straight track in the UK.

Our Race the Runway event offers you an unmissable chance to take part in an event that is guaranteed to get your adrenaline flowing!

You’re invited to join us for an exhilarating day at Edinburgh Airport. See what your own car can really do as you race against the clock along the airport runway. With a minimum of 2 races guaranteed, we’ll clock your maximum speed as your race the 1800m distance. Can you beat last year’s record of 172mph? Of course, there will be a prize for the fastest time!

Limited places are available for a minimum donation of £300. If you’d like to bring a supporter “observer” places are available for £50.

Please contact Ashley Kilgour at the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice on 0141 429 9887 or email ashley.kilgour@ppwh.org.uk to book your place.

Just got the email with the flier/form throug this morning.

just a quick question about the distance? is it really 1800m this time.
from the telmetry i got last time it worked out at about 1200m+ 200m braking distance(more or less)

and since the info was a bit sparse, are there any other activities going on?

The one at front of terminal 2675m

The one to side 2075m to where it joins taxiway so will probably be shorter to keep you away from Aircraft approx 1800m to entrance to Aircraft parking area at East of terminal
