BBC News: still the party line
Discussion
The headline between 0900-1100ish today:
"Mortgage lending drops by 60%"
Net lending in Q1-10 fell from £1.85bn to £318m
Then it changed. The headline between 1100ish onwards:
Mortgage lending was 17% higher in March than a year earlier
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/10095767.stm
"The number of mortgages approved for home buyers rose slightly in March .. The total increased to 48,901 in March from 46,882 the month before, and the figure was 17% higher than in March 2009"
A negative story turned to a positive one in the space of a few hours!

The only thing with any credibility from the BBC is the world news when you're abroad.
I find watching the world news quite odd, they often use some of the same presenters but the slant on it is totally different. I don't quite understand why they're not spewing their crap out to everyone else.cs02rm0 said:

BBC spin, tell the bad news, then find a positive and replace it.
Bank of England figures show 48,901 mortgages were approved in March - up from 46,882 in February, but net lending took a sharp dive.
Net lending, which strips out redemptions and repayments, fell to just £318m during the month, down from £1.85bn in February.
