Weaving

Just had the car MOT'd, everything fine, but coming home the car starts to weave at 85mph+
The only thing that is different from it's last run out is a nearly new set of Toyo 888s fitted. These are running on the same tyre pressures as the previous Bridgestones.
Very worried about this weaving, grip on the corners is fine but just floats about in a straight line.... Help.............

Wheels are tight and running true, I changed the wheels myself.

Could be the car they were on before have slightly different cambers etc so until they wear a bit it'll be all over the place.

You've got them on the right way round I guess? (that's if they're directional, I don't know).

Sure it's not tram-lining? Some tyres pre-dispose the car to this more than others. Not having used Toyos before I can't really comment.

Don't think so, weaved on both smooth and bumpy roads, even my missus could feel it in the passenger seat.
I am wondering if I need to play with the tyre pressures.
I will stick the old wheels and tyres back on to see if it is the new tyres.

What tire pressures are you using? We use the Toyo 888's on our cars, and we haven't had any problems with tramlining, etc. We have found that the Toyo's need higher than stock pressures - usually in the 34-40 psi range when hot. I'd also suggest getting your wheel alignment checked (if you haven't already), along with the axle nuts on the front wheels.

Recentlhad similar issues on another car (not a Noble) but with race car style suspension.

It was a combination of ride height too high causing bump steer and damaged steering rack with too much float at one end (could easily be caused by hitting a pothole)

I had this problem last year mate, i found the nut retaining the upper wishbone to the ball joint (front left) was a tiny bit loose. tightened up and the problem went away.

It's a set of Noble M12 GTO wheels, same as my origional set.

What was it like back on the other wheel / tyre combination ?

i suspect the other car they came off had different camber, so they have worn differently

if you drive them long enough they will wear to suit the new car

Thanks guys, I will take on board all of your comments and suggestions and give it a good dose of looking at in a couple of weeks when I am back home.

am i right that the fronts have toe out as std????... if this is right it will explained why turn in was so fast for my car and how it was a bit twitchy at high speed.

Im betting some tyres will REALLY emphasise this!

Yep, 1mm toe-out at front, 2-3mm toe-in at rear. I agree re tyre choice; a lot of work went into finding the the right tyres for the cars and just swapping to something of the same size isn't necessarily going to give optimal results. I remember on my old Elise changing from S02s to S03s once the former were no longer available -the difference was like chalk and cheese -original S02s were a good road tyre, the S03s were rubbish on the Elise. However, S03s were the original tyre of choice for the M12 and unlike on the Elise, they worked really well with the Noble weight/suspension set-up. Best thing to do is get everyone's experience and go for something that suits your usage pattern and budget (which I guess is the point of the original post!)
