Immobiliser light not flashing

Hi all,

Not noticed it before but I have never had to use my decode key and the immobiliser L.E.D never seems to flash when the car is alarmed, is this normal or does it seem to point to a faulty unit?

There's an immobiliser light??

I think that the immobiliser is deactivated for something like 7 seconds after you unlock the car with the fob and also when pressing the fob button with the ignition on.

I'm not 100% sure but I would expect (hope!) that a faulty immobiliser means that the car won't start rather than the other way around, but I stand to be corrected!

Just above the fob, the owners handbook states that it flashes for different intervals if the alarm has been triggered at all, having had other issues with the alarm as of late I’d of expected some flashes out of it.

I'm certain I have left the car for longer than this, got in turned key and it's started.

I've never noticed the lights flashing - I'll pay some more attention in future!

Hmmm. Does sound like a you have a potential problem. Usual advice is to talk to Carl Baker as he is the alarm / immobiliser guru...

Well i found my problem in the end, cut & crimped cables!
