The next car run...
Discussion
I think Paulqv and I are planning to organise a run for next month and I was wondering what people thought about using it to raise some money for charity. I wouldn't want to charge people for coming along so maybe just a collection with a can or something? Any other ways to do it?
If people don't think it's a good idea then I'll leave it alone but I thought there was an opportunity to raise a few pounds. I was thinking of a childrens one that I help but any of the national ones would be fine.
What are your thoughts on this?

If i can make the run then i wouldn't have a problem giving a few ££ to a charity. Kids ones are always good and nice if you can find a local one. There was 43ish cars on the run on Sunday, with 50 having lunch. There were a few more bought their own lunch, so i recon we had close to 60 bods on the run.
Everyone is asking and talking about when the next run is, so pick some good roads as they are all warmed-up after Sunday!!
Just a thought and suggestion...I get asked all the time to sponsor people doing various thing and i'm sure a lot of you do aswell. Not everyone will make a donation, but probably will if they are getting something. Good amateur photographer taking photos and then selling the disc of the run. Profits going to Charity. If it's decent weather having a BBQ and profits to charity. Knightrider i hear your name being called ha ha. Having turns of driving Paul's Lambo...I'll start the bidding at £1 for 15mins of pure abuse.

Idea that was floating about on sundY, why don't we have a good run, stay the night in wigwams or summit then drive down the next day ? I know of some in tyndrum and crianlarich area and I have to say they are awesome fun, grabbing a few drinks whilst sitting round a big fire !!! Then up next morning nice breakfast then off again !!
I was hoping to raise some money for Mavisbank School and Nursery in Airdrie that my mum does a little helping out with. They look after children with minor and severe disabilities so are a really worthwhile cause!
We could always rotate the charities at every run so that we let other people raise money for good causes that are close to them?
I was thinking about the first weekend in June for the run?
Paul, we just need some good weather then hopefully we'll have an incident free run!!! Send me over the roads you were thinging about?

Early June would be good, the wigwams or campsite with more substantial lodgings nearby would be perfect (and of course somewhere for a small sherry).
Poss run up west coast and drop back into aviemore or suchlike on day 1 (idealy within 2 hours ish of glas/edin) late afternoon bbq, drive home after food/chat for those not wishing to two day event and then poss upto elgin/nairn and further backroad jaunts for a 2nd day of fun.
Just a suggestion but count me in, still raging at not making last run
cheers
