Anyone know where I can get new 4 pot front calipers to fit a 2001 Impreza turbo?
Or is there anyone in Scotland that can re-condition them, pistons seized.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I had seized calipers on my 2001 Impreza Turbo and was told that it was the same Brembo calipers fitted to Peugeot 406 V6 (I think). I needed the car back on the road quickly though and ended up paying c.£800 to local Subaru dealer.

I see it's a Turbo 2000 you have so that's a UK car. I have one too and have heavily modified it for track use.

The standard 4-pots it comes with are simple enough to replace. There will be a good few sets on ebay/Scoobynet/SIDC. In addition, Ian at Godspeed reconditions these calipers so he'll probably have a fully rebuilt set that he can sell you in exchange for yours.

If you fancy upgrading then there's a Brembo option off the newer (2004 on) Subaru's that are pretty effective. This is what I run. You will need to change the discs too but Iain at Godspeed does a full conversion kit to run this setup.

I hope this helps.

James,

Are you sure the standard wheels fit over the Brembos?

Dammit! There's me just thinking every one has chucked the originals and gone for some larger/stronger ones!

To clarify, the orignal wheels will NOT fit over the Brembos. Incidentally I have three sets of wheels in my garage that do fit over them so should anyone need a set..... wink

Thanks for all the advice guys, upgrading is something to look into in the future if the problem reoccurs, sounds like a common fault in the standard set up. Needed these turned around as quick as possible so have dropped them off at Wallace Performance in Bridge of Don.

It's also worth giving Gelnburgie Subaru a call, as they often have sets they have taken from cars that have been scrapped, or the standard ones ditched for ones more suited to rallying etc.

Thanks for all the good advice, proving to be a real pain in the a**!
Spare sets / reconditioned sets are like hens teeth.
Have had to send them away,7 - 10 day turnaround. Godspeed looked promising but on holiday until the 17th.
Fingers crossed I can get them back a bit sooner than quoted.
