Actual bad customer service

I hired a taxi on Sunday night for Mrs Pier and the 3 little piers. Big Merc 6 seater rolls up driven by a bald thuggish looking oik. The kids get in whilst we say our gooodbyes to the host.

I see kids sitting in dead silence looking at 2 drop down DVD screens with confused and amused grins on their faces. I pop my head in to take a look and the feature film showing tonight is.... porn, genuine lady on lady with black rubber toys porn.

"Ace" I thought and settled back for an enjoyable trip home but then I remembered.

I say "Driver (I always call them that) can we change the channel?"

He says "nah way"

"Eh? but these are naked women" I reply

"Anyway it's a DVD" gruffs he.

I say "Yes, and these are young children in the back"

He turned it off and slammed up the drop down screen in a huffy "I can't believe it" way. Remainder of journey was performed in a rattley, diesel silence and an uncomfortable air of menace.

Genuine piss poor customer service.

But also genuinely funny as a story to re-tell once over dinner to friends once your poor kids are asleep dreaming of being chased by 8 ft tall black dildos whilst mummy spanks daddy!

Not have allowed him to have started the journey until the movie was turned off (as a minimum). Then when he said "no" you could take your kids out of your car, back into the hosts house, and called a more suitable taxi than the muff wagon.

Just sat and thought about this for a minute.

It really is genuinely shocking that the taxi driver even began to think this kind of behaviour is acceptable.

Did you record his badge number?

Not sure you read it. He didn't start the journey, although I guess the meter was running as soon as he stopped for the fare, he mentioned not turning it off then did albeit reluctantly as part of my complaint/coversation. Five seater Taxis are hard to get at that time of night - muff or not.
