Must admit, this is a bit of a surprise;

I'm wondering what the developments can be as that is quite a known package, albeit in 2009 spec and not the new aero regs, but Audi proved that testing was no comparison to race experience. Surely the new aero regs haven;t made that much of a difference?

I'm not that surprised. They were way off the pace in france. I don't know how much they will save by not going to Spa but its more money towards developing the car and spending their cash on developing better aero in the wind tunnel rather than on track. Shame, but if it helps them get a finish in five and a half weeks time, I guess thats good.
