One-Off 286bhp Suzuki Saloon Unveiled

Hot turbocharged Suzuki Kizashi makes a dull car interesting

Suzuki has revealed a hot one-off 286bhp turbocharged version of its Kizashi saloon.

'Suzuki Ki-what?' We hear you cry. And we'll forgive you for having let the Kizashi pass you by, since it's a small saloon for the US, Japanese and some European markets and, well, it's not that interesting.

But now Suzuki tuner Road Race Motorsports (RRM) has injected a bit of excitement into the Kizashi with this 286bhp concept.

RRM started off with a pre-production Kizashi GTS, adding a 16G turbocharger, high-performance intercooler and new injectors to the 2.4-litre 185bhp four-pot motor, and by fiddling with the engine management systems.

The RRM Kizashi also gets a small spoiler, 19-inch alloys and a more sporty suspension set-up.

There are no plans to create a production version of the hot Kizashi, and the car is unlikely to make it to the UK anyway, but still it's always nice to see somebody make a dull car slightly more interesting, isn't it?

Quick google suggests it could be quite fun, a smaller evo/scooby rival with a better off boost performance from a larger 2.4 with Suzuki's latest "intelligent" all-wheel drive (i-AWD) constantly variable front-to-rear torque split is a function of a number of factors, including wheel slippage, throttle and steering input.

First pic reminds me of a VW Jetta, looks nice though!

I've seen alot of Suzuki Swift's around recently, and they're not a bad looking little car either!

Good grief.

Could that boring-looking Kizashi be the same as this one:

I like that, be nice and subtle in black with some 18's..loads of potential for extra boost as well I'm sure even with a 16g should be able for 350+

The Kizashi has got very positive press;it's probably the best handling non-performance small saloon,if the hype is true!

Looks great! As already said it must be massive if those are 19"ers!

One offs deserve little or no respect IMO. As there is no point or value to the customer. And without something to sell to anyone it does a pretty pointless job of raising the brand either.

I must admit after reading the "hype" about this car I am really looking forward to its release in our market later this year and am delaying purchase of a new car till it is. Meant to be very sporty for its class even in base na form.

Another interesting performance car and yet again disappointment that it wont come into production!

Based on the Vauxhall Insignia by any chance? GM and Suzuki have done platform sharing before (Agila/Splash comes to mind), assume they've done the same here.

Looks really smart I'd have one in a flash against what would probably be more expensive competitors from Germany and the likes

Think it's rather a lot smaller - More a VW Jetta-sized thing - It's about four inches longer than the VW, but with an extra six inches in the wheelbase.

Looking at the pictures properly, I do believe you're right. The main image had a look of it as did the boot, my laziness was in not looking at the completely different side profile. 286bhp in a Jetta sized thing sounds good though thumbup

would have thought they would have got more than 101bhp by adding the G16 turbo etc, but considering the low 185bhp from the 2.4 original, guessing if they increased the BHP anymore then they would need to start messing with the engine internals.
Has a look of VW Jetta, would rather have a 286bhp jetta as well.
