The small things
Discussion
Just received a small hobby vice in the post this morning, sent by a kind member of a different forum free of charge to aid me in some work. It can't be worth much but the fact that it was sent was enough to elevate my mood.
Any one else been cheered up by unusual kind gestures or people going out of their way to help lately?

Yes - when I bought the Morgan, another owner, realising that I would be storing it outside while I found a garage, gave me his spare "shower cap) car cover, free of charge; stops water soaking the soft top and getting into the car.Any one else been cheered up by unusual kind gestures or people going out of their way to help lately?
That's very kind from a complete stranger. Thank you, Aeroman (think he posts on here sometimes). Hope I can repay the favour sometime.

I think that sort of thing makes a huge difference.
One of the guys on the Caterham forum here made up a fly lead to get my car going when I was having starter motor issues a while back. I didn't ask him, I just got a PM saying 'found myself in the workshop so made this up, what's your address?' Top bloke.
At the last race, a racer offered to get me a copy of a new book on a very obscure piece of American Racing history (not currently available in the UK). I refused, but on Friday it turned up anyway - not onyl had he picked one up out there, but had put in some effort to get a postal address.
The subject is so obscure that I'm actually credited in the book.

Yes. About five years ago I wrote a witness statement for an Ebay user about another Ebay user who'd tried to shaft me and then tried to shaft him. Unexpectedly I received through the post a book, some prayer beads and a very nice leather wallet as a thank you.
The beads and book were not my cup of tea but the wallet was very good quality and I only stopped using it about six months ago when I received another one as a present.
As thank you gifts go it was a good one and I often reflected upon the giver's generosity when I went into my wallet.

I think a lot of us could say similar in relation to gifted cars in Forza 3!
