I'm posting from my phone, so apologies in advance if already mentioned.

If you haven't seen the Standard's editorial, look it up.

Unapologetically London-centric, but it applies nationwide.

I am biased, I admit, but it's outstanding.

I was a little surprised when I read it I must admit - they appeared to come across as a bit of a lefty paper during most of the campaign. Or at least they appeared to fall under the spell of Clegg.

Wasn't it bought by that Russian fella? To be honest, I'm one of those tts who normally has his head buried playing Angry Birds on his iPhone rather than read the paper, so I could be quite wrong on the lefty bit, but did read the editorial tonight. It was good, responsible journalism. Not often I say that.

For me, the source added to it.

It was a balanced, thoughtful piece of journalism that spoke very well to the readership, though a view the paper would not traditionally take.

If there is any resonance there, it gives me much hope for the next 24 hours.

I expect it has as much to do with this as anything else. They want to back the winner and been seen to have backed the winner.

Ownned by Lebvedev, who has also bought the Independent.
  • Ex-KGB
  • Some interesting dirt (about his son?) still to come out
  • Some curious, unconfirmed political affiliations - a front for Murdoch?

A good well balanced article. I couldn't disagree with it.
