Mrs 335is is due at the end of July. We have a girls name sorted more or less but we are stuck for a boys name. We had one in mind but tonight she has said that she is not so sure.
Obviously I would like a petrolhead aspect but I`m not bothered really because they are all so bad, Stirling, Chapman, Trevor, Austin etc. I seem to remember a thread of this ilk before but can only find one on girls names.
We are open to suggestions!
Any ideas?

Not PetrolTed..

Before you name it, think whether in school, you'd take the piss out of it.

Our little one is Alfred (but we call him Alfie).

Will give him a bit of flexbility when he's older of being Alfred, Alf, Fred, Freddie etc.

If we have another boy I really want to call him Charles but the wife isn't impressed with that idea.

I think a lot of whether it's suitable is down to what the surname is!

Perfect. You better have given him 'Romeo' as his middle name...

We had a boy 4 weeks ago, we chose Oscar, we wanted a name that wasn't too common but not too out there either, we were careful to try and choose a name that couldn't be teased (I hope we were right with that one!) and so his initials didn't make any words.

We'd had a couple of girls names we really liked but had struggled with boys and then this one was mentioned by one of us and we both liked it so went for it!

I'd also consider choosing a different initial to yours.

When we were at school, a guy in my year went through the back of a porn mag (this was before the days of the internet) and signed his mate Richard up for every bit of weird and freaky junk mail type thing he could find. Sex aids, aphrodisiacs, cross-dressing outfitters, escort agencies, you name it, he got the lot.

The joke had rather unexpected consequences. It turned out that Richard's dad was called Robert. And Richard's mum opened their post.

Apparently it was only the eventual sheer volume of the stuff which arrived which persuaded her that someone was having a laugh at their expense, and that her husband wasn't a secret cross-dressing dildo freak! hehe

Annoyingly, I forgot my own advice when naming my middle child! irked

Stirling is my nickname, but I've always though it would make a good firstborns name.

Also, Freeman. That was my Grandads name..not very common, but I like it.
