Buying a T VR S (calling Podies advice as well)
Discussion
Just having a nosey around but if I were to look at spending approx £6000 +/- on an S what kind of car would I be getting.
Podie - I expect to hear the wealth of your knowledge (the smoked lights look great btw), as you seem to be the S guru.
The S will sit next to my Chim, do they come with PAS as I would love my wife to use it, she still says the steering is too heavy in the Chim.
Thanks in advance.

Very good S1/1.5, average S2, slightly below average S3

Seriously though...
£6k should get you an S2... maybe an S3 if you're lucky. There are some bargains out there, so have a good look around. M@H is a good source of S series info... kinda been there done that.
No PAS on UK cars.. although I understand some MAY have been fitted with PAS abroad... according to the Bible.
PH classifieds are a good source of S's... although they seem to be about a grand more...

Thanks guys,
Even without the PAS whats the steering like, no silly answers .
I thought Podie was the man on S's, Podie are you coming down to Brighton on Sunday??
I don't think it's that bad. Heavy at parking speeds, but quite light otherwise.
What's going on at Brighton??!
I know a fair bit about S's... happy to help if I can.
give rob ingleby a ring he will do the leg work for you or just inspect if you wish

There's the Brighton Burble, loads of people are meeting at Pease Pottage first at 11-11.30 and driving down to Brighton for 12.30ish, it's in the events/meetings bit.
There should be a good turn out, and the first TVR meet I've actually made it too....

if I am honest I found the steering in the S3 heavier than I do in the non-PAS chimaera - dont ask me how - maybe its the ange of the wheel or something. But the chim seems lighter so you may want to think about that.
Having said that - Ted's other half had an S3 for a while and Claire (who is only 5') drives hers without too much fuss. As you say, its only at parking speeds its any bother.
