Quick Q....

Windscreen sun band at the top of the screen... standard self adhesive black vinyl from DIY store? - or something more exotic? Easy to do? any tips for fitment?

Many thanks

Or....before the windscreen goes in, use vinyl on the inside of the screen. Cut in a way that makes it look like an extension of the body over the screen. Will never peel off, never chip, and looks as if it were 'meant' rather than after thought.

I must agree that doing a sunscreen on the inside of the front window is a great idea. Mine was done by a pro, after the car was built and running and you cannot tell that it was applied after the fact. Obviously before the window is installed is the way to go. SIDE WINDOWS, again, these were done after the car was on the road but in this case the film is on the outside. The installer felt that he would not be able to get a clean enough edge to look good applyng it to the inside. I will caution those who go for the side windows, if you run the screen where it covers your view to the mirror you are not going to like the result. I didn't consider this and the screen covers 1/2 my view of the mirrior, NOT GOOD. I bought new side screens on my last trip through London and plan on doing the new screens on the inside with a cutout for the view to the mirrior. All of this may seem weird, but if the screen covers half of the view of the mirrior your eyes only focus on the clear half. Lee

That was a superb detail - do you have the details of the supplier?

Any vinyl supply and fitter will do it. I took the screen to them with the profile masked out with a laser level.

The finish on that windscreen and sidewindows really address the issue I've never liked in the GTR (being the bubble screen looking a little...70's).
